music i make

i'm currently trying my hardest to make an album, i hope to release it sometime in 2025.. it's going to be some kind of ambient/glitchy/sound collagey album. i am exclusively using tape and tape loops to record/process everything as i love the unpredictability of it and the odd warm nostaligic sounds they produce. all the instruments and field recording will be recorded/played (badly) and mangled by me.

i have been collecting whatever old cheap instruments i can find and play on the album! here is a list of them:)

acoustic guitar

the guitar i play the most is this very cheap old parlor acoustic made in GDR.. I don't know anything else about it. it feels very thinly made and if i put it down wrong it may break but i like the sound of it :)

violin

i used to play violin when i was little, i'm not as good anymore but i try! i don't know anything about the violins

zither

i found this little lap harp in a second hand store. перепелочка translates to (small) quail. i don't think this one is actually russian maybe american made but is sold as a slavic gusli for children to learn music on(?) it sounds pretty anyway ^_^

baritone ukulele

i was looking for a ukulele as i wanted some higher pitched instruments when i found this baritone for super cheap i decided to buy it and i thought i could put a capo on the strings to turn it into a normal ukulele.. but i found out these are tuned to the top 4 guitar strings (D G B E).. the nylon strings sound really nice though!

chord organs

i had a big daniel johnston phase and i really wanted a chord organ.. again they were super cheap! one is a bit broken. they are very noisy fan i dont think i have found a use for them in my music yet but i really like the sounds of them a lot!

melodica

a soprano melodica:) very similar sound to the chord organ but you need a lot of breath for long notes!

low whistle

this has been really fun to learn, i think i spent a week being terrible at it then i magically was able to play it ok! it has a nice flute sound without needing to learn the flute

echo dream 1 + 2

the only things here which weren't cheap! the echo dream 2 is my favourite pedal i really like how it can oscillate but you can tame it down and turning up the time knob past 420 will give horrible dirty delays.. i like it so much i bought another one so i can run them in stereo:)
